Monday, 23 April 2012: Post Earth Day at Hans’ Bier Haus
Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on April 23rd, 2012
Is it Post Earth-Day or Post-Earth Day? Should you get ready for the zombie office apocalypse? Saucer Diaspora isn’t qualified to answer these questions. What we can tell you, gentle reader, is that you should make your way over to Hans’ Bier Haus (2523 Quenby St. at Kirby Dr.) tonight at 8 PM. The extremely nice weather is the perfect reason to sample one of the beers from the Bier Haus’ recently much-improved tap wall, play some bocce, or just hang out with the other cool cats. Street parking only.

Spend some of that refund check and sample something from the 77 individually-regulated taps (including at least one nitro and 5 casks) or from the food menu. Be kind to the ‘hood when you’re parking.
Monday, 9 April 2012 : ID your favorite drink at Down House
Posted by john | Meetings | Posted on April 9th, 2012
Join us tonight at Down House, 1801 Yale St., at 8:00 PM for a cocktail or beer, and grab some good grub if you’re peckish. DH is in the dry part of the Heights, so make sure you bring your I.D. so you can join their club for the night. Also, they have more parking on 18th half a block west of Yale, if the main parking lot is full.
Unrelated Houston trivia for the day: On this date in 1965, the first game at the Astrodome (Houston’s original Flying Saucer) is played; Houston beats Yankees 2-1 in exhibition as Mickey Mantle hits the first indoor home run.

Monday, 2 April 2012: Spring Beer at Liberty Station
Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on April 2nd, 2012
Q: If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring?
A: Pilgrims.
What a difference a year makes. No sign of drought around here, no sirree. There is sign of draught, however, and there’s no better place to find it tonight than at Liberty Station, 2101 Washington Ave, at 8 PM. Their tap list has great variety for its size, and if you’re hungry, there’s probably a food truck outside (you are free to brown bag it as well).
