Monday, 30 July 2012: Drink Up at Down House

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on July 30th, 2012

Join us tonight at Down House, 1801 Yale St., at 8:00 PM for a cocktail or beer, and grab some good grub if you’re peckish.  DH is in the dry part of the Heights, so make sure you bring your I.D. so you can join their club for the night.  Also, they have more parking on 18th half a block west of Yale, if the main parking lot is full.

Unrelated Texas Trivia Of the Week:  Six Flags (the original one) opened in Dallas on 31 July 1961.  Six Flags was started by Angus Wynne, whose son Shannon started a little venture he called The Flying Saucer.

Monday, July 23 2012: El Gran Malo es muy bueno.

Join us tonight at El Gran Malo, 2307 Ella Blvd. If you want to sample EGM’s great tacos, or you want to catch happy hour before it’s over, come by at 7 PM; if you’re just interested in the infused tequilas and good (albeit short) beer list, and don’t care about the cost, stop by at 8 PM. Salud!

Monday, 16 July 2012: Mongoose vs Cobra vs Man vs the Empire Brain Building

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on July 16th, 2012

Whether or not you feel that you were Born to Laugh at Tornadoes, come out tonight to MvsC at 1011 McGowan.  Try a cocktail or a beer to wash down the excellent pub food on their menu. See you there at 8 PM, or when Zaz turns blue.  Park in the Greensheets lot (the one on the northeast corner of Main & McGowan).

Monday, 9 July 2012: Wet weather whistle whetting at Liberty Station

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on July 9th, 2012

Stay safe and dry, but stop by Liberty Station2101 Washington Ave, at 8 PM.  Their tap list has great variety for its size, they have a bar full of mixed drinks, and if you’re hungry, there’s probably a food truck outside (you are free to brown bag it as well).

Monday, 2 July 2012: Fancy Beer at The Ginger Man

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on July 2nd, 2012

Be a part of the anti- anti-hipster backlash backlash and join us tonight at The Ginger Man, at 5607 Morningside in Rice Village, for a great pint and a good jukebox.  We’ll be in the back biergarten.  July is Belgian month at the GMan, but there should be plenty of other good choices.  Just not cans of PBR or Lone Star.  Get yourself a fancy beer.  See you there at 8 PM.
