Monday, 20 August 2012: Mongoose vs. Cobra vs. The Rest of Houston

Posted by john | Meetings | Posted on August 20th, 2012

Tonight we visit MvsC at 1011 McGowan.  Try a cocktail or a beer to wash down the excellent pub food on their menu. See you there at 8 PM.  Park in the Greensheets lot (the one on the northeast corner of Main & McGowan).

NB:  MvsC has been nominated for two Houston Culinary Awards (Outstanding Bar Service and Favorite Pub or Bar).  Give them some love when you fill out your survey.

Monday, 13 August 2012: Mo’ Bittah Beer at the Petrol Station

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on August 13th, 2012

Most Bitter Bar in AmericaOur long-time favorite bar north of the loop, The Petrol Station, has been named The Most Bitter Bar in America for the second year in a row.  They’ve also completed a kitchen expansion recently, and have made some improvements to their food menu as a result.  YMMV.  However, they always have a great beer list, and they still have their burger-fries-and-a-pint Monday night special, as well as happy hour all night.  So come out to 985 Wakefield, in soporific Garden Oaks, at 8 PM for libations, noshes, or just some hang time.

NB:  Regardless of the Petrol Station menu, there will be desserts on offer. 🙂
