Monday, 10 February 2014: Down House and the Robot Overlords

Down House SignOn this day in 1996, world chess champion Gary Kasparov loses the first of a six-game match to Deep Blue, a computer built by IBM.  Kasparov went on to win this match, but lost the 1997 rematch.  John Connor was not known to be present.  Tonight join us at Down House1801 Yale St., 8:00 PM for a cocktail or beer, and grab some good grub if you’re peckish.  DH is in the dry part of the Heights, so make sure you bring your I.D. so you can join their club for the night (or your existing club membership card if you’ve been there recently).  Also, they have more parking on 18th half a block west of Yale, if the main parking lot is full.  Be mindful of the Skynet bots, though.

This list may or may not reflect the actual list of beers from which you could select.
