2012-12-05 19.50.48On this day in 1836, the Texan Army routed Santa Anna’s forces at San Jacinto, effectively winning the war for Texas independence from Mexico.  “Remember the Alamo!” and “Remember La Bahia” or “Remember Goliad” were the battle cries.  If you haven’t visited the San Jacinto Monument in the however-many years you’ve lived in Houston, we highly recommend a field trip.

Celebrate Texas’ independence with us tonight at  Cottonwood Bar, 3422 N Shepherd Dr, at 8 PM.  Have a pint or a mixed drink and possibly enjoy a snack from the menuLone Pint’s Yellow Rose seems particularly appropriate.
