Liberty StationOn this day in 1969, the Woodstock Music & Art Fair closed with a performance by Jimi Hendrix. While we can’t promise that level of music and art, join us tonight at Liberty Station2101 Washington Ave.  The tap list has great variety for its size, they have a bar full of certifiably-inspired mixed drinks, and if you’re hungry, there’s probably a food truck outside (you are free to brown bag it as well).  Feel free to search the jukebox for your favorite tracks, tie-dyed or otherwise.  See you there at 8 PM.

Monday, 11 August, 2014: American (or other) Drinks at Under the Volcano

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on August 11th, 2014

VolcanoOn this day in 1973, American Graffiti was released to theaters.  Although today interesting mainly as an historical curiosity, it launched or revitalized several careers, and its success allowed George Lucas to make Star Wars, so it’s got that going for it.  If you weren’t alive in 1962, it’s probably not very interesting to you today.

Join us tonight at Under the Volcano, 2349 Bissonnet Street at Morningside Drive. UtV is a great place for beers, cocktails, and frozen drinks, and has a jukebox with a diverse selection of actual CDs, none of which are likely to be the American Graffiti soundtrack. See you there at 8 PM.
