Monday, 10 August 2015: Mongoose vs Cobra vs The Increase and Diffusion of Knowledge

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on August 10th, 2015

mvsclogoOn this day in 1836, President James K. Polk signed into law an act authorizing the creation of the Smithsonian Institution.  Based on a bequest (roughly valued at $12.5 million in 2015 dollars) from English scientist James Smithson, the modern-day Smithsonian comprises 19 museums and galleries, nine research facilities, and the national zoo (Pandas!).  Visit it the next time you’re in DC, but tonight, raise a glass to the increase and diffusion of Knowledge at Mongoose vs Cobra, MvsC1011 McGowan, at 8:00 PM tonight. Note that the parking situation in midtown is ever-evolving, so consult the handy-dandy, superific, MvsC-specific parking guide before you head that direction.
