Monday, 31 July 2017: Dog Days for Real at Kirby Ice House

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on July 31st, 2017

This week we’re heading to a dog-friendly venue as it’s slightly cooler.  See you at Kirby Ice House at 8 PM. Located at 3333 Eastside (near Richmond Ave), it’s a 23-and-up, dog-friendly place with a good beer list.  There’s a food truck if you’re peckish.

Monday, 24 July 2017: Mongoose vs Cobra vs The Dog Days of Summer (EARLY START)

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on July 24th, 2017

We’re in that part of the summer where it’s hot, muggy, and the tropics are usually quiet. Not that we have anything against dogs (we don’t), but this it traditionally called “The Dog Days” based on the Dog Star, Sirius, being in ascendance in the night sky. Contemplate the confluence of astronomy, meterology, and any other pursuits that are on your mind with us tonight at MvsC1011 McGowan, at 7:30 PM (EARLY START). Note that the parking situation in midtown is ever-evolving, so consult the handy-dandy, superific, MvsC-specific parking guide before you head that direction.  Leave Fido at home, though.

Monday, 17 July 2017: Heights Bier Garten (EARLY START)

Join us tonight at 7pm at Heights Bier Garten. Reportedly they have 94 taps with Craft Beer, Curated Wine List, and Housemade Sausage and Sandwiches.

Monday, 10 July 2017: Whole Foods Post Oak (EARLY START)

Posted by mike | Beer, Meetings | Posted on July 10th, 2017

Join us tonight at Post Oak Whole Foods, 1700 Post Oak Blvd at San Felipe.  Boasting the first in-house brewery of any Whole Foods, there are 20-28 beers on tap (whether their own, local (Texas forever!), or from far-flung places), and a number of food options if you’re peckish.  Plus you can get some grocery shopping done too.  See you there at 7:30 PM. (Note the early start.)

Note that if the bar is busy, there is quite a bit of seating upstairs, so if you don’t find anybody you recognize downstairs, take the elevator in the back or the stairs in the front.
