Monday 16 December 2013: Choose your rebellion at The Boneyard

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on December 16th, 2013

Boneyard-Crest-2010_reasonably_smallOn this day in 1773, a group of colonists disguised as Mohawk Indians raided British ships in Boston Harbor, throwing the Boston Tea Party, another in a series of actions and retaliations that would lead to full-scale rebellion against British rule of her colonies.

On this day in 1826, a group of Anglo settlers in east Texas rebelled against Mexican rule by taking control of the Old Stone Fort at Nacadoches, later declaring the Republic of Fredonia from the Sabine to the Rio Grande.  The rebellion only lasted about a month, but was a precursor to the later, successful one that created the Republic of Texas.

Regardless of which rebellion you hold most dear, celebrate freedom at the Boneyard Drinkery, 8150 Washington Ave. Stop by for a pint at 8 PM and bring Rover, as you don’t get any more dog-friendly a drinking establishment in Houston (but check the park rules).  Bring a jacket.

Boneyard-Crest-2010_reasonably_smallWhile it’s been fall for two weeks according to the calendar, the hygrometer and thermometer have finally caught up.  Celebrate cooler weather tonight at the Boneyard Drinkery, 8150 Washington Ave. Stop by at 8 PM and bring Rover, as you don’t get any more dog-friendly a drinking establishment in Houston (but check the park rules).  You might even need a jacket.

Monday, 2 September, 2013: Off-white ain’t right at the Boneyard Drinkery

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on September 2nd, 2013

Boneyard-Crest-2010_reasonably_smallEmily Post will tell you that it’s the last day to wear those whites until next May (except that “she” doesn’t anymore).  If you wear them to the Boneyard Drinkery, 8150 Washington Ave, they’re likely to not be white anymore by the end of the evening, what with the 7,000 sq ft dog park in the back and all.  Win, win.  Stop by at 8 PM and bring Rover, as you don’t get any more dog-friendly a drinking establishment in Houston (but check the park rules).  Note that while the Boneyard won’t be hosting any food trucks tonight, you’re free to brown bag it or order in (as long as you keep the food out of the park).  Also, all beer and wine is $1 off all night.

Monday, 19 September 2011: Talk like a Pirate at The Boneyard

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on September 19th, 2011

Admittedly, The Boneyard, 8150 Washington Ave, Houston’s only dog park bar, doesn’t have much to do with pirates.  Or ninjas. They do have good beer and a 7,000 sq ft fenced-in dog park.  See you there at 8 PM.

Monday, 27 June 2011: Celebrate the Dog Days of Summer at The Boneyard

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on June 27th, 2011

Technically, the dog days won’t start for a week or two, but we’ll still have a siriusly good time tonight at The Boneyard, 8150 Washington Ave, Houston’s only dog park bar.  Bring Fido so he can enjoy the 7,000 sq ft fenced-in dog park, and you can enjoy a beer or glass of wine from their bar.  See you there at 8 PM.
