Monday, 4 March 2013: 0% Chance of Rain, 100% Chance of Bitterness at The Petrol Station

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on March 4th, 2013

Most Bitter Bar in AmericaJoin us tonight at the Petrol Station, 985 Wakefield Dr, in surprisingly refreshing Garden Oaks, for a pint (they have a pint and burger special on Mondays if you’re peckish).  Confirmed as the Most Bitter Bar in America two years running, they should definitely have the hops you crave.  Or perhaps you should stick to something less hoppy if you’re already consumed by a gnawing hate that’s eating away at your gut until you can taste the bile in your mouth.  See you there at 8:00 PM.

Monday, 15 October 2012: Bitter Up at the Petrol Station

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on October 15th, 2012

Most Bitter Bar in AmericaJoin us tonight at the Petrol Station, 985 Wakefield, in splendorous Garden Oaks, at 8:00 PM.  Although they have beers that aren’t bitter, we’re not sure they have any employees who aren’t.  Hey, they are the Most Bitter Bar in America two years running.  Caveat bibitor.

Monday, 13 August 2012: Mo’ Bittah Beer at the Petrol Station

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on August 13th, 2012

Most Bitter Bar in AmericaOur long-time favorite bar north of the loop, The Petrol Station, has been named The Most Bitter Bar in America for the second year in a row.  They’ve also completed a kitchen expansion recently, and have made some improvements to their food menu as a result.  YMMV.  However, they always have a great beer list, and they still have their burger-fries-and-a-pint Monday night special, as well as happy hour all night.  So come out to 985 Wakefield, in soporific Garden Oaks, at 8 PM for libations, noshes, or just some hang time.

NB:  Regardless of the Petrol Station menu, there will be desserts on offer. 🙂

Monday, 28 May 2012: Memorial Day @ The Petrol Station

Posted by john | Meetings | Posted on May 28th, 2012

Raise a pint tonight in honor of those who have served our country and given the ultimate sacrifice. The Petrol Station is in the middle of construction on the kitchen and due to the holiday there will not be a food truck out tonight either, so hopefully you’ve had your fill of BBQ beforehand. See you at 985 Wakefield, in Garden Oaks, at 8 PM. Check out the latest beers on tap here.

Monday, 26 March 2012: Patio Pastimes at The Petrol Station

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on March 26th, 2012

Most Bitter Bar in AmericaIt’s a beautiful day, ain’t it?  From where we sit, we can’t see a single cloud.  Of course, from where we sit, we can’t see a single window.  Still, the interwebs tell us it should be a glorious night for hanging out on a patio.  The Petrol Station is essentially a couple of patios that are briefly interrupted by a bar and a few tables. So come take advantage of their ‘pint and a burger‘ Monday night special, or maybe some rosemary feta french fries and a pint.  Or just a pint. See you at 985 Wakefield, in Garden Oaks, at 8 PM.

Monday January 30, 2012: Beer from that City Up North at The Petrol Station

Posted by john | Beer, Meetings | Posted on January 30th, 2012

Most Bitter Bar in AmericaThe Petrol Station has some friends visiting from the Big “D” and is celebrating by tapping a keg of IPA from one of the newest craft breweries in Texas.  We promise this won’t be one of those “oh, I want my two friends who don’t have anything in common except me to meet and be friends” kind of awkward platonic set ups where everybody is uncomfortable and just wants to leave. Come out to sample the new beer, or to take advantage of their ‘pint and a burger‘ Monday night special, or maybe some rosemary feta french fries and a pint.  Or just a pint. See you at 985 Wakefield, in Garden Oaks, at 8 PM.

Monday, 19 December 2011: Dodging Raindrops at the Petrol Station

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on December 19th, 2011

Most Bitter Bar in AmericaIt’s supposed to rain tonight, so leave yourself plenty of extra drive time.  Come out to the Petrol Station, nonetheless, to take advantage of their ‘pint and a burger’ Monday night special, or maybe some rosemary feta french fries and a pint.  Or just a pint.  See you at 985 Wakefield, in antediluvian Garden Oaks, at 8 PM.
