Monday, 1 June 2015: Sitting in a Woosters Garden Waiting for the Sun

Posted by mike | Meetings | Posted on June 1st, 2015

Wooster's GardenOn this day in 1967, The Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band to great acclaim and popularity.  A tour de force of contemporary technical production (four-track recording, ‘ping pong’ mixdowns, signal processing, analog sampling keyboards, etc.), it was also one of the first concept albums (though it owed a great debt to the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds, released the year before).  It has been going in and out of style ever since.

Whether you’re a fan or not, what is guaranteed to raise a smile, is raising a glass tonight at Wooster’s Garden, 3315 Milam St in Midtown.  They’ve got a respectable tap list, inventive cocktails, and a food menu, should you find yourself hungry.  Parking is available in their lot.  See you there at 8 PM.
